AI is smart, but easily fooled. You look at a picture of a cat. You see a cat. A hacker adds a few Mathematically Calculated Pixels (tiny noise) to the image. You still see a cat. But the AI now sees a Dog.This is an Adversarial Attack.
The hacker doesn't change the color or shape visibly. – Goal: They find the "Weak Spot" in the AI model's math. – Action: They add invisible, carefully designed noise (called Perturbations) that confuses the model's pattern recognition.
Misreading the Road The biggest threat is to real-world vision systems. Example: A hacker puts a tiny, nearly invisible sticker on a STOP sign. – Human: Still sees STOP. – Self-Driving Car AI: Reads it as "Speed Limit 80 km/h." – Result: Catastrophic failure.
This attack works on any AI vision system: – Security Cameras: An adversarial pattern printed on a t-shirt or hat can make facial recognition systems see you as a "toaster" or "dog." – Malware Scanners: A tiny change in a malware file makes the AI scanner think it's a safe word document.
Adversarial Attacks prove that AI is fragile. – Defense: Training AI models to recognize these "tricked" inputs (Defensive Training) is the only solution. – Lesson: Never blindly trust AI based on what it sees.
