No Coding Required. In the old days, hackers wrote their own viruses. Today, criminals operate like Software Companies. They hire customer support, HR, and even run marketing campaigns. This model is called RaaS (Ransomware as a Service).

It works exactly like a McDonald's franchise. 1. The Developer: Creates the virus. 2. The Affiliate: YOU (The criminal) rent the virus for a monthly fee. 3. The Attack: You use it to hack a company.

The Franchise Model

Sharing the Loot When the victim pays the ransom (e.g., $1 Million), the money is split automatically. 70% goes to the Affiliate (You). 30% goes to the Developer (Commission). Result: Even a non-technical person can become a millionaire criminal overnight.

Because the barrier to entry is Low. Since anyone can buy these tools on the Dark Web, small businesses are now being targeted just as much as big corporations. Target: Hospitals, Schools, and Local Shops.

Why Attacks Are Rising?

Antivirus is often too slow for new RaaS variants. The only 100% protection is Offline Backups. Rule: If your data is backed up on a hard drive that isn't plugged in, they can't lock it. Tip: Follow the 3-2-1 Backup Rule.
