Your Router is Vulnerable. Most people buy a router, plug it in, and forget it. But if you are using the default settings, hackers (or neighbors) can: Steal your bandwidth. See what websites you visit. Hack your connected cameras.

The stickers on the back of the router usually say: Username: admin Password: admin Action: Go to your router settings (usually 192.168.1.1) and change the Admin Password immediately. This stops hackers from taking control.

1) Kill the Defaults

Check your security mode. WEP: Ancient & Unsafe. (Hackable in seconds). WPA2: Good standard. WPA3: The Best. Action: Switch your router to WPA2-AES or WPA3 only.

2) Upgrade Encryption

WPS (WiFi Protected Setup) is that little button for easy connection. It is also a Secret Backdoor. Hackers use tools like Reaver to brute-force the WPS PIN in minutes. Action: Turn WPS OFF in settings.

3) Disable WPS

Do you have Smart TVs or cheap IoT bulbs? They have weak security. Pro Tip: Create a separate "Guest Network" for your smart devices. If they get hacked, your main computer stays safe.
